The Whole School is Reading Wonder by RJ Palacio!

All Borel students, parents and staff are encouraged to read a novel and participate in the school-wide discussions and activities.

The novel this year is Wonder. The topic of Wonder is fitting in, standing out and standing up in middle school.

Read it and participate in activities every Thursday at lunch during the month of April. Think about the message it is trying to send. Rethink how you treat others.

Click here for a link to a preview video of the book!

Books are available in the Borel library to check out, at the San Mateo Public Library, at Costco ($10) or Barnes and Noble ($16).

Changing Minds is about a group of students all trying to navigate a world of insecurities, grades, fashions and text messages.  Then, during a school trip to a historic mission, the minds of two students are inexplicably switched.  Suddenly, Kyle Fairbanks, a charismatic slacker is helping everyone with their calculus, and scholastic superstar Natalie Watson is calling everybody “dude.”  Kyle and Natalie have to find out how to get their brains back as they juggle friends, classes, rumors, and scholarship competitions. Changing Minds is a musical that is laugh out loud funny, and is sure to have you singing and clapping along as they all discover that sometimes the best way to figure out who you are is by… CHANGING MINDS!
